What a superb run by Tom, on a less tempestuous night the 50 minute barrier could have been challenged. Good scrap behind as 4 runners came in seconds apart. Well done to the solo runners, especially Martyn who ran the same time as last year. Good effort by Rob who flew in from Chamonix for the race. The trio at the back had the joy of an extra 25 minutes of deteriorating weather to endure as even battling off Emlin in the wind and rain proved challenging. It took a while in the pub for the gathering to warm up. Although a few Warts were absent numbers were slightly up on last year and clearly the interest in this idiosyncratic race continues. Next year 1st or 2nd Wednesday in October, as usual.
