The Thornbridge weekend and Ashford race was certainly ''in-the-water''. This did not stop 18 Dark Peakers setting off in then drizzly and humid conditions. Most people ran 2 or 3 races over the this White Peak racing weekend, adding Great Longstone and Longshaw to the list

Tim and Dave, fuelled by charcoaled meat and ale, were the first to appear over the hill. Dave took a different route down the finishing hill, also taking his watch off prior to going in the river Wye. This gave Tim 1^st place with a 30 second lead. Helen was on excellent form (as always), close behind coming 3^rd place and 1^st lady. Notably, Mike Bourne and Rich may have been ''feeling it'' as they teetered down the banking while the crowd jeered

Kizzy, Stan (mini stalwarts) and myself got the first feel of the weekend's sunshine on our faces as Mike came into finish

Thanks to Tim and Bronwyn for organising and everyone there, for a great weekend enjoyed by all
