What a turn out for this year's first race - 31 people - more than the day version. The sharp end was hotly contested with Will B and Will G breaking away early on and Austin, Josh, David and Tim in pursuit. Then just before Wincobank the Wills joined us from behind having been on a little walkabout somewhere. I (Tim) couldn't hold on and sat 30 secs behind the bunch as we approached Shirecliffe taking a different route to the bunch. A good line off and a different route back via Tesco car park, combined with Austin giving his bunch the slip in Upperthorpe, saw me intercept the split bunch in second.

Austin deserved his win after all the recce'ing he's been doing to get the optimum line - but don't tell everyone Austin!.
The Women's record was smashed by Kim but only lasted a few seconds as Sally took another 12 minutes off!!! - the Women's record now a respectable Men's time.

The post race BBQ was packed! Lots of burgers, bangers, beer and mulled wine, sheltered from the rain under the gazebos provided a very entertaining evening for all.

Next race - Springvale Spirals on Tues Nov 18th. It's the shortest of the series with sub 30 winning times
