Saturday was a great day out, the weather was good and Martin and me were up for it although he hadn’t run since an injury at Alport. However, he was determined to not miss the fun, so he walked the route at a better pace than some of our previous runs.
As I say each year, it’s a great event organised by Rotherham Harriers and Athletic Club. There are 5 controls, all with good food & drink, a kit drop offered to ½ way, partly marked course (not the tricky bits), a varied route on tracks & trails through industrial decline to rural magnificence, a hot meal at the finish and a great T-shirt for the pub afterwards.
We can’t believe how many of Dark Peak didn’t enter, but I am delighted they didn’t as I almost had a PB, a bit strange as this was my 13th completion.
