The course seemed simple enough,but several runners took a variety of lines to the Pine Trees, if they found them! and a variety of options were taken to Druids and surprisingly back. Excellent run by junior Tom, followed home by ageing super star Phil--with Jane showing the flag for the women.
This was the 56th Crookstone - and unless Kinder is shut by dust storms and fire risk !! then the organiser will, as usual contrive to find new lines to find. The highlight of the day however was the 15 min delay caused by first Kev, then Mike as they slewed their cars across the race route, and only brawn and bracken, and a few wooden poles ensured the race took place and the farmer with tractor and tow ropes wasnt called upon. The photographs and slide show may well grace the club dinner and pertex nominations.
