A glorious weekend with a big DPFR turnout enjoying the power boat trip over from Knapdale or the more traditional trip from Kintyre or Arran for some. Hot conditions for the race with a breeze on the big hills. Perhaps the most psychologically tough section was the 3 mile beach road section to the finish in the teeth of the “midday” sun. At the sharp end Es apparently arrived to the 3 Arch bridge with Rob Jebb & Ben Bardsley. Rob decided not to change his shoes for road shoes unlike the others & sped away to win with Es second. Dark Peak men were the first mens team with the counters being Es, Rob & Jon. Gavin did a PB, a fine effort given the heat.
