year. It features three runnable climbs and a superb long gradual
descent to the finish. One minor alteration before the final climb
added about 30 seconds to previous times. I could tell I'd run
hard because for once I was outpaced, at the finish by all of the
half dozen pack I was with as we started the last descent.
This year some sort of commercial race organisers seemed to
have taken over the running of the event. They included a copy of
the results in the entry fee which arrived through the post within
four days. This was popular with myself but was it with others as
it increased the entry by 50p over most other races? They also say
they would like to attract more runners next year! There's nothing
wrong with that as long as some of the extra entry money is spent
on additional stiles. Otherwise some of the skirmishes that took
place this year in the queue for a stile will become full scale
battles!
