Many thanks to the Dark Peak members, other fell runners, friends and family who helped with the Country Day Fell Race marshalling. It is one of the many positive aspects of Dark Peak and fell running as a whole that so many people are willing to help at an event. Thanks to you the race went like clockwork.
The route is over a tight fast horseshoe course around Grindsbrook Valley including a long climb to the top of Golden Clough via The Nab, a run around the head of Grindsbrook and a very steep descent of Grindslow Knoll back into Edale Village with a finish on the show ground.
A great turnout with 189 starting and completing the race.

A note from the webmaster - I found a glitch in my results processing which means that 17 of the times were wrong when first published (under by between 9 and 45 seconds) - but I believe thay were all correct at 2pm on Friday 13th June. Positions were unaffected.

189 starters, Local LeagueAs I promised, the glorious weather arrived which made for an excellent day of running and enjoying the events in the Country Day field. Phil Winskill won again, leading all the way, followed by Richard Patton in second place, and Matthew Cox from Otley in third. Janet McIver was again the first lady, with Judith Jepson in second place and Sally Newman in third.Many thanks to the Dark Peak members, other fell runners, friends and family who helped with the Country Day Fell Race marshalling.
