169 startersA nice little race from Thropton, Northumberland with a bit of everything in the 1000
foot ascent of Simonside Hill: water splash, fields, a short stretch or tarmac, woods and open moor. I thought this might be my chance to he first Dark Peaker back as you wouldn\'t travel up just for this race (I was visiting this area), an honour I have yet to achieve.

I only found one person in a Dark Peak vest and he was a \"lapsed\" member living in Durham just using up old clothes so I was quite hopeful until the results came out and I discovered that Neil is no imposter, he is the real thing well done Neil.

I will have to find a more obscure race (or run faster!).
