208 startersThis is a hard race at the best of times, this year conditions were often evil, almost dangerous. Before the race it was a wait in the car till the last minute, then set off up Pendle Hill in the wet, wind, and higher up into hail and sleet. The weather eased for the middle part, and for the last three huge hills any rain was on our backs. But on the final crossing of the top it turned to horizontal stinging hail - just trust the compass, get across and lose height quickly. Very strong DP efforts, and Matt giving what we now expect, another excellent race for 12th in a strong field . The usual praise for the organisation - £5 for the race – free T shirt at the start, loads of marshals, 3 prizes in each 5yr category - it can be done.
