This was the first of the Lakeland Classics Series, and the idea seems to be working because there was a good field, enough to keep the race going. Clear, hot and sunny, so we all suffered in the heat, but no problems finding the way round. There are so many long races just now, and we can?t get to them all, but hopefully more people will do enough to complete the series. Ennerdale was close to being cancelled - do we want these real fell races to fade away?
