229 startersDark Peak's British championship trail got a terrific start with 1st Team for the Ladies and 4th Team for the Men. As expected there was a very strong field, because everyone goes to Ireland! Marvellous to see so many of us there, and a special thanks to those who came even if unable to compete through illness. When it was Championship in 1999 there were only 2 of us. It poured before, it poured after, but for the race everything stayed clear. Steep hills, rough drops, stunning scenery. Best of all - to be there cheering as the Ladies walked out for the team prize. So is this it, achieved, done - or the Shape Of Things To Come?DT
