Export resultCrowden Horseshoe on Sun 26th Sep 2004
80 startersThe forecast I heard on Sunday morning said it was going to be a fine day, so the low mist and horizontal drizzle at Crowden came as a bit of a surprise. It also caused some problems for some of the runners, as the second half of the course from Black Hill over Soldiers Lump back to Crowden was flagged, but with the flags at 200 metre spacing and visibility 100 metres quite a few went walk-abouts including Dave.
Compared with some races it was excellent value for the £3.50 entry, with a good range of prizes including MV45 & 55 & 60 and LV 50. The youth hostel facilitates were used, allowing showers afterwards as well as soup/bread and tea / biscuits. I was unable to get full results afterwards (hopefully these will follow) as 2 runners were still missing when we left, (3 hours after the start - winner took 1 hour) and sorting this out was a priority for the organiser.
