Extremely demanding conditions, with a strong headwind going out to Green Gable, and it hardly seemed to help that much on the way back. The course is one of the worst for water and streams, and we were in the full force of the sun throughout. None of us retired, many needing to get round for Team points, maybe dreading the long walk home if dropping down to upper Ennerdale was necessary. Our Senior Men were 2nd, Vets – 4th, V50’s – 2nd and Ladies – 2nd, considerable achievements given the difficulty of the day.
