Park at Birchen Clough car park. Start/Finish at top of steps on other side of Snake road (SK10909143). CP1 – bend in fence, currently masked by a small bevvy of fallen (and standing) pines (SK10619122); CP2 – fence corner/bend (SK10059091) (do not cross fence at any point); CP3 Mushroom Stone (Fairbrook Naze) (SK 09668978); CP4 stream/path junction (SK 10458977). Crow flies route on map.
Wedding party start at 17:00; main start at 18:30; whippets’ start 18:45; special dispensations to set out earlier for the over 70s.
Map, compass and mobile phone are compulsory – and I’d strongly recommend a head-torch this week just in case you get unduly tangled in the bracken, and that you also carry full FRA kit. No dogs please.
