- Climb: 875 feet
- League: Summer Series
Start through gate to east of wall junction on boundary of access land to north of Sir William Hill Road, at its junction with Edge Road (SK22487802). CP1 Leam access gate (SK23127931), CP2 NW corner ruined rectangular field enclosure (SK22257934), CP3 circular stone sheepfold, currently shoulder high in bracken (SK21957935), CP4 wooden stile beside gate (SK21417946), CP5 shallow quarry/outcrop on Bole Hill (SK21717923), CP6 low gap through wall, please take care crossing (SK21707865), CP7 Sir William Hill trig (SK21557789), finish at access gate on opposite side of wall junction immediately to west of start point (SK22487802).
Sir William Hill Road itself is out of bounds – you must keep on access land to north of wall/road throughout. Please cross the wall running NW-SE across moor at shin high gap in wall (CP6) only, taking care to do no damage. You must not climb this wall at any other point. Crow flies route on map.
Please note that the numbers on the map are out of sequence with the checkpoint numbers, as a direct consequence of the RO’s evident technological shortcomings. If you’re able to add/subtract by one, then you should be able to work it all out for yourselves.
Main start at 18:30; whippets’ start 18:45; special dispensations to set out earlier for the over 70s.
Map, compass and mobile phone are compulsory. It is recommended that you also carry full FRA kit. No dogs please (several routes cross areas with ground-nesting birds).
For further background to the series, see full 2026 series programme, and current league standings. This is the first running of this route, so there are no previous times to shoot for.
