New race route for 2026 (now reccied and confirmed as follows). Start on south side of Clodhall Lane at start of track to Eagle Stone. Finish at gate access to Curbar Edge Car Park. Follow track past Eagle Stone to track junction at south-west end of Blackstone Edge. Turn left then immediately right steeply descending on rough track to wall. Turn left on sloppy footpath beside wall, swinging right after 300m or so and dropping on mostly distinct but occasionally rocky path to footbridge across Bar Brook. Climb footpath to south end of Gardom’s Edge, taking care when crossing A621 (left and immediately right over stile). Turn left at summit boulder/gateway in wall, following wall north-east to narrow gap in wall, then immediately right over wall step-stile. Follow enclosure wall north-east, striking out east at wall corner to cross second footpath before climbing increasingly steeply to trig point. Turn north-east following main pathway from trig, which swings and descends north-northwest after a while on sometimes boggy ground to A621 cross-roads. Cross A621 with care and ascend Clodhall Lane for 200m before taking track through gate on right. Climb easily north-west on broad footpath to finger-post at wall corner west of Swine Sty. Turn left and descend south-west beside wall to cross Sandyford Brook, finally climbing on track to return to Curbar Edge Car Park and finish. Full route on map.
Starts from 18:00 for slower runners, to 18:30 for the whippets. Special dispensations to set out earlier for the over 70s.
