Start/Finish at gate across Upper Ashop Farm road, 200m up beyond bridge. Parking area near cattle shed at Rowlee Low Barn, but please leave gate clear into the field, and careful not to burn out your clutch on the return onto the A57. Follow trod at start straight up on classic route to Crookstone Knoll summit, then south-west on edge path to Coffin Rock. Scramble down left and follow original Edale Skyline route over Crookstone Hill, joining track to right through gate/stile. Follow track 300 metres down to second junction, then drop left north-north-east beside forestry plantation, following rutted farm track through gate (SK16128810) into wood. After track swings round to right, start looking for footpath to left (80m or so) which descends more steeply down hillside – indistinct initially but soon more obvious. Keep left at track junction above Haggwater Bridge, contouring on prominent track/footpath west-north-west to regain road to Upper Ashop Farm about 100m shy of finishing gate. Full route on map.
Starts from 18:00 for slower runners, to 18:30 for the whippets. Special dispensations to set out earlier for the over 70s.
