Start/finish Bolsterstone Church – the (more or less) traditional Christmas week race, with the hope of a beer afterwards (pub opening days permitting). Your choice which loop you do first, but each must be run in an anti-clockwise direction. Longer loop: descend halfway down Yewtrees Lane towards Broomhead Reservoir, then hard left at 265963 on bridleway through wood to pick up tarmac beside More Hall Reservoir. Hard left again through gates just shy of main road at 2979557, following More Hall Lane, then Sunny Bank Road, back to Bolsterstone Church. Shorter loop: take Walders Lane cut through to descend Folderings (becoming Cockshot) Lane, then left at cross-roads, contouring and keeping left along Hollin Busk Lane, then left again along Coal Pit Lane and final left turn along Stone Moor Road back to Church.
