Start/finish at Brogging End, by gateway onto Mortimer Road. Down track to Brogging, bearing right towards dam wall, then immediately dropping left onto footpath through stile/gate and across field to second gate and footpath through woodland to footbridge. Cross wall on right using step-stile, then follow Sheffield Country Walk on rising footpath and due south across field to east of Boot’s Folly (tower). Through old kissing gate to pick up narrow concessionary footpath through rhododendron festooned woodland above Sugworth Hall, then up driveway and right along Sugworth Road. After couple of hundred meters, climb stile to pick up footpath across Lodge Moor to vehicle track to east of Moscar Cross Farm. Turn left through gate and left again to follow Stake Hill Road north across Ughill Moors to Wet Shaw Lane. Right and soon left on footpath beside plantation, descending and across two lanes to Andrew Wood. Descend left back to step stile (benefits from daylight recce) and retrace route to finish. Full route on map – run anti-clockwise.
Starts from 18:00 for slower runners, to 18:30 for the whippets. Special dispensations to set out earlier for the over 70s.
