Start/Finish through gates to either side of wall onto access land at junction of Sir William Hill Road with Edge Road (SK22487802), CP 1 Leam access gate (SK23127931), CP2 NW corner ruined enclosure (SK22257934), CP3 circular sheepfold (SK21957935), CP4 access stile (SK21417946), CP5 shallow quarry/outcrop on Bole Hill (SK21717923), CP6 Sir William Hill trig (SK21547789), finish at access gate on other side of wall to start point (SK22487802).
Sir William Hill Road itself is out of bounds – you must keep on access land to north of wall/road throughout. Please cross the wall between CP5 and CP6 at one of the points (to be) indicated on the map (shortly). You must not climb it at any other point. Crow flies route on map.
Main start at 18:30; whippets’ start 18:45; special dispensations to set out earlier for the over 70s.
Map, compass and mobile phone are compulsory. It is recommended that you also carry full FRA kit. No dogs please (several routes cross areas with ground-nesting birds).
