Confusion -15 April 2026
The Serious Warts had decided that this week’s venue was to be Strines at 5pm but, in the meantime, we were told that DPFR were reviving the Way Out West race as part of the Read more
We had a small field of 9 starters, all of whom were male. Would be great to see more along to these classic races but I do appreciate everyone has training schedules etc.
I would encourage folk to go out a do these at other times of the year as training runs as they are exceptional routes. I’m not just talk about the springs race here. Moz’s, Margery Hill, Edale Circle to name a few.
Tom Pape started at the back of the grid and came home in first. Guy's and David's tussle after setting off in one of the earlier starts with Guy pipping David by circa 2 min to take second. The top 3 were under 2:20, while the rest of us came in, in dribs and drabs there after.
It was great from my point of view to actually run one of my races I organise for once. My plan was to run springs 1,2 and 4 but decided to head over to 3 on the far side of kinder to ensure I ran the whole thing. The way back is always and adventure cutting kinder in a way you never normally do so. So I complete the whole race and survived. Body was definitely tired as it’s longest I’d been out for some time but great to be out.
