Moz's Birthday Run on Sat 4th Jan 2025
23 starters, Dark Peak Races LeagueA beautiful clear day greeted us in Edale, with snowy and icy conditions challenging the runners.
A good turnout of 23 runners, three of whom opted for the shorter alternative, missing one of the checkpoints. While there was some concern and difficulty with parking, all were able to start on time. Next year the race will be started an hour earlier - Edale isn’t getting any quieter.
An excellent run by Jonny Crickmore resulted in a convincing victory ahead of Tom Saville and Neil Northrop.
Fine runs by all, and it was good to see a wide range of ages race and complete the route. Despite the clear conditions, some saw fit to visit Crowden before Kinder Gates, resulting in a healthy loss of time.
The race was followed up by a trip to the Rambler, including a discussion on the ethics of going around the top of Crowden.
