25 starters, Dark Peak Races LeagueWhat a morning, superb clarity and snow down; a few runners, led by Richard Bradbury, didn't want to miss out on the full course and set off early. However although I gather they did go to Margery they did not descend to Cranberry .
Although Tom's winning time was on the short side there is no question that the route from Cranberry to Cogman would have added upto another hour on, and more for the stragglers as the snow in the heather, off path, was slow and tiring.
Super running by Tom who created a path from Lost lad onwards and he was well clear of a tight pack led home by Ralph, with a youthful Tim Tett only a minute behind. Excellent running by Dave Allen to lead the old ones home but the run of the day was by Pete Gorvett who pulled through the field to pass lots of young bloods. Fi took an early lead on Penny to finish just behind a group of men that had been jostling for places, when they could get out of the one path route!
