213 starters, Carshare LeagueA very fine race indeed, absolutely living up to its billing, with a couple of stiff climbs, much of the first one being all too runnable, and some fluid running on grassy lines affording great views, both north into the heart of the Lakes, and south and west to the coast. A smallish contingent of travellers from the Peak, augmented by two of our resident Lakelanders, enjoyed the occasion and the meat and potato pies thereafter. Mike R took the DP honours, with Dave L, Matt H and myself taking the Carshare team prize. Your correspondent was somewhat surprised to find himself within twenty seconds of Will Spain as he reached the final summit - with Will evidently finding married life to his liking - but the natural order of things was restored as Will pulled steadily away on the final, rather splendid descent. Dave was complaining about a sore hamstring, but nevertheless moves into pole position in this year's Carshare League, with Matt and John making very welcome debuts. Highly recommended, and certainly deserving of a stronger DP turnout. Willy
