Neil must have read my race details carefully, because he hit my estimated winning time spot on. Well done to him. Mike took the bridleway option all the way from Roych Clough to the bottom of Chapel Gate, gaining maybe twenty seconds in the process. Greg and David managed a sprint finish for the cameras. This was particularly impressive on David’s part, since he’d completed the Derwent Watershed the previous day. I got considerable abuse from the competitors for the arduousness of course, which I took as a compliment. It’s got some great hills (both up and down), some straightforward bog trotting and a fair bit of route choice, so we’ll do the same again next year!
