Although 2013 started dry and sunny the going under-foot was definitely 2012 vintage - flippers wold have been useful in the start field. As promised the course provided a variety of terrain and route choice with runners taking alternative lines to all controls. The direct line down from the last control seemed quickest although it did involve a greater loss of blood. Apologies to Mandy for not being there when she finished - I was getting cold - and for giving her an estimated time. In the end talent won out and Oli came home an easy winner followed by local boy and new DPFR member Dave Miller. Helen was a good 8 mins clear over a recuperating Jane.
As well as the 37 starters in the main race the following Juniors completed a demanding "mini tour of Padley".

Much soup and bread was consumed over the next hour or so with Andy Barnett's Leek and Bacon winning out in the "battle of the soups". Thanks to everyone for supporting the event - happy new year!
