Well worth the long drive for this splendid race, which must be one of the longest midweek local ones on the calendar. None of that walking up hill, staggering downhill stuff - this is fast runnable all the way. Amazing that someone on this planet is 3 mins faster on the fells than Lloyd ** and rather amusing that Jack Ross's rather portly dad chose to encourage me with the word 'bigfella'. Thankfully the midges held off as prize giving was a must as DPPR nicked the prize from under the noses of the locals. Evening only slightly spoilt buy the fact fact we had to endure folk music in the Grouse as we downed our well earned pints.
