Clachnaben in Aberdeenshire was the first round of the Scottish Hill racing championships this year. Your correspondent was pleasently surprised to bump into another brown vest at registration and Richard H will have accrued a hat full of championship points having finished 5th MV50. The course, an AM, was excellent and might even have received a nod of approval from Captain Harmer himself. The race was sponsored by Deeside Brewery, who had a barrel of free beer at the finish.
