14 startersThe 9th Race of the Series was Orrel's Dead Snail. A new race round Winscar Reservoir. At the start Andy Harmer was complaining about the amount of road however on finishing he was complaining that "it was too rough" - too rough for Andy must be rough !! The top 3 runners were apparently running on trods all the way as shown in the results gap. 14 runners set off - 2 thought that the Woodhead pass looked inviting and ran right off the map (guess who?) Others returned with similar tales of tussock wars. Jim Orrel came in beaming from ear to ear - he was one of the few that achieved a bonus. Overall a worthy race.
The next race is the Gusset Race on 8th August
