Cutthroat Relay on Sat 25th Nov 1989

The first race of the season and with some resting up for the 'morrows sojurn across Hal lam bog and others treading the wastes of Bleaklow or preparing for the South Yorks. cross country, it was left to the real stalwarts to venture forth. A committee meeting finally resolved that the meagre attendance of nine couldn't constitute a quorum; in place of the relay came the handicap.

Pete Kohn sped away and it was nearly three minutes before Alan Yates took up the chase. A severe handicap for Alan left him adrift on Ladybower Tor. Graham Berry ambled round to the lip of Derwent Edge then sped down the last mile harrassing a tired Andy Harmer who had worked hard to catch both Graham and Bob Toogood. Neither could catch Ged Desforges who caught Pete near the finish. A goodly little sprint that may revert to the original pre- Karrimor date but will keep the chase as the format.
The all time list now reads as follows:
Andy Harmer 17:07 (1985)
Andy Moffat 17:32 (1985)
John Fisher 17:42 (1985)
Bob Toogood 17:43 (1986)

P.S. Callow Bank seems harder the following day after this excursion. The double of Cutthroat/Warts Revenge takes some doing!
