Weather was excellent again, sunshine with clear blue skies. Running over the Paps of Jura is an experience unsurpassed anywhere on the mainland but the race has a real sting in its tail - 3 miles of superheated tarmac. I'll be back in 1991 and I hope I won't bonk on the road next time.

115 startersDark Peak were certainly not out in force this year, only three members on the Island and only two of them running. I was somewhat concerned when we were warned, before the race, about the large number of adders on the island this year; it certainly made you look where you put your feet.Weather was excellent again, sunshine with clear blue skies. Running over the Paps of Jura is an experience unsurpassed anywhere on the mainland but the race has a real sting in its tail - 3 miles of superheated tarmac.
