We stumbled upon the home of Wilf's Cafe and the Hawkeshead Brewery in Staveley en route to the start line, though it's debatable whether the very fine sausage and bacon sandwiches were ideal preparation for the race. Wild horses aren't likely to keep us from making a return trip to this one some time soonish.
