The race was enjoyable as a training run but the limited amount of climb would not satisfy the appetite of the true fell runner. Nevertheless, well worth a run if you\'re tin there on holiday as we were.

Fox and Hounds Chase on Thu 30th Jun 1994
This mid-week race starts and ends at the Fox and Hounds pub, Ainsthorpe near Whitby. The fully marked course is mainly over moorland and involves a horseshoe of Danby Moor. The race reminded me of a Dark Peak summer run cutting from the reservoirs to Stanage Pole and then on to the Headstone. The waist-high bracken bordering narrow paths made it difficult to pass people or to be passed! There was only one short climb of any significance with the rest of the course runnable.The race was enjoyable as a training run but the limited amount of climb would not satisfy the appetite of the true fell runner. Nevertheless, well worth a run if you\'re tin there on holiday as we were.
