193 startersA cool sunny day gave superb running over this popular horseshoe. A good Dark Peak turnout (but no women) resulted in fierce competition; Roger Wilson lost out to the equally matched Roger Woods and Rob Davison on the descent. Phil Crowson was running at the head of the field to the summit but struck a rock on the descent and lost half a dozen places. Eric Mitchell surely had one of the best runs of the day beating many half his age.

The first woman was disqualified for not carrying spare kit (as were four others after random kit checks) a warning to us all.
