145 starters, Local LeagueThe Mickleden Straddle was raced today in as close to perfect conditions as you could hope (if a little too warm) Sun cream in February in the Peak! No wind and perfect visibility and just enough 'give' in the peat for grip meant this was going to be a fast race. Once again it was well marshalled and the local Woodhead Mountain Rescue were out to give back up.
Refreshments at the end were fantastic tea, coffee, 2 types of soup and as many sandwiches, pies, cakes and flapjack as you could eat and it was all free with a donation to the local MR. Other fell race organisers from other clubs should take note!

The route of 14.5 miles/2100ft (our measurements) had 145 entries with a strong DP contingent.
