82 startersA good turnout from DPFR for this tough race. With steep climbs, rocky descents and plenty of mud this is a real test of fell running ability. The driving rain stopped briefly for the duration of the race which probably saved a few lives, however the side-winds along the edge were gusting to 60mph+ and most of the field were blown off their feet at some point. Though I feel unable to blame the weather for slow times as Lloyd broke the course record and beat a quality field by almost 4 minutes. I will however blame the hour long traffic jam on the snake pass due to an accident which resulted in us arriving at Crowden at 12:57pm for a 1.00pm start! Thankfully the organizer delayed the start for 15 minutes.
