Congratulations to Marcus Scotney who has run The Limestone Way (Castleton to Rocester in Staffordshire, via assorted trails though the White Peak) in what I understand to be a record time of 6:18:18. 2021-04-04--MS-Rocester.jpg-web.png

Marcus at the finish in Rocester looking as fresh as a daisy.

Wednesday evening’s first club run for far too many months to Hathersage and back was a delight to be a part of. Zoom is all well and good, but meeting actual people takes some beating. All we need now is for the Sportsman and other watering holes to reopen.

Upcoming events

Sunday 11th April – Hoppit’s Hill. Entries close on Wednesday. http://www.hoppits.co.uk

Monday 5th to Sunday 11th April – Eyam and Abney TT. This can, and probably should be self-timed in the conventional way. However, this race has also been set up as an iOrienteering route, the use of which is entirely optional. Follow the link in the Calendar to find the instructions. This is a good opportunity to test out the iOrienteering technology before the Redmires and other score events.

Until Sunday 18th April – Kinder Killer TT. Only one completion time has been sent in so far making Andy Barnett the current race leader. However, if what I’ve seen on Strava turns out to be correct, his time has already been eviscerated.

Until Friday 30th April – iOrienteering: Redmires. A two hour score event that involves the use of a smartphone.
