We had eleven starters (even though one came technically as a supporter). The first three legs went pretty much to plan and there were eight still in play and on time at Wasdale. When It began raining the temperature dropped and it started to get windy. Honister was a bit of a nightmare. In addition to the problems of the weather there were quite a number of other groups running to a similar schedule everyone was hiding in cars or under gags and hats so it became hard to find people and know who was with who. We were down to seven by then, but despite the problems they all left Honister in time and large wet crowd greeted them in at Keswick. A minor hiccup was avoided when the Mountain Rescue informed me that we had lost someone around Honister but when we had finally established who it was he was discoverer standing next to me!
