A latest Jos Naylor Run. Have a read of this,   Mungrisdale to Greendale Bridge. A real, real fell runner.

Black Rocks – results . Do I see some most welcome return to running from certain Dark Peakers? And Richard Hopkinson must be going well, competing in the V40 category?

Hathersage – results
Summer Series (7) – Whinstone Whizz,   Next is the Broomhead Bash, Monday 20th July.

Chevy Chase – results:- 1st  – Joe Blackett  –  2hrs 59:54
                      3rd  – John Boyle    – 3hrs 07:49
A great, well organised and supported event.”

Rhinog Horseshoe:-  results.    Martin’s Photos. Al Ward3rd place –went to The Rhinogs with Greg Rimmer and Martin Stocks. Met Matt Hulley there. Interesting day! The middle section of the race is probably most politely described as a brawl, though a different “b” sprung to mind at the time -e specially the descent off Rhinog Fawr. The final drop off Moelfre is also “entertaining” Martin very nearly killed himself taking a ‘head firster ‘on some extremely ugly ground coming off Fawr but managed to get round with help from Greg, twelve stitches in head, three in knee. Matt managed to get lost on the run in down the road about half a mile from the finish and crossed the line backwards (if you know what I mean.) I had a nice run round with (?) Matthew Roberts who guided me round to the drop off Moelfre whereupon my jaw made friends with a friendly rock – what fun, what a race!
PS – Porthmadog small injuries unit don’t do stitches on a Saturday afternoon, (although they make you wait a long time before they tell you that!) Try Bangor or, as we did, drive home…..
PPS – positions don’t matter on this one. Its the getting back without bleeding that does – I think Greg was the only one of us that did that – so he was first Dark Peaker!

And from Greg:- “Can’t find the results and times on-line yet – a bit pre-occupied, with Martin taking a nasty fall (head/knee) coming off Rhinog Fawr yet continuing round. We ran round the rest pretty much together. Al Ward came in third, his third race in 8 days, and Matt Hulley recovering from a knock at the Great Lakes last weekend came in 4th. A small field, by Peak standards, hard good conditions, a bit warm, a bit wet and a bit claggy. Al summed it up – 6 miles of running and 9 miles of wrestling. A tough course and definitely worth a recce. Martin will hopefully send thro some pictures, injuries mostly I think.”

Martin sends:- “Al has done a pretty comprehensive write up already , however, a point worth making:
Carshare has advantages above keeping costs down:  Had Greg and Al not been with me, I would have not had anyone to keep an eye on me through the race after my ‘incident’ (many thanks to Greg) and equally importantly, without Al, I would have had to drive myself back to hospital, which would have not been advisable in the circumstances.  A great example of how the DPFR
teamwork overcomes adversity.”

rhinog3 Seems they’ve done well to get safely home…..More photos

Lakeland Classics 2009   rather false, after Duddon and Ennerdale, as many runners will take Wasdale as their second long race.
We’re 1st Team just yet, but Borrowdale are 2nd, with their potential bankers of Wasdale and Borrowdale looming up…

Saunders MM  – results  sifting through these is some task, so please let us know if you’re there, etc, and something will happen…

Skiddaw :- results.    little changes for Skiddaw. You set off climbing, and keep going upwards for ages, until higher up it becomes more runnable. Round the trig, and try not to get blistered coming back down again. Hot, excellent free cakes and tea, sit in the river and watch the cricket. Some finish. photos
Another most pleasing DPFR set of travellers.

Peakers Stroll
Anyone do this, as results may never emerge?

Paddy Buckley attempt :- Roy Gibson’s PBR attempt – “Nausea and bonk stopped play at 13hrs despite faultless support from: David & Rich Hakes, Bob, Rick & Sally (Buxton), Tom, Becky & Nick (Totley), Martyn, Ian & Helen, Pete’s Eats & Skoda. No excuses, just try again “

Wharfedale TTT.results.  Lots of open rough fell, eventually, all around Great Whernside, at Kettlewell. Even in the clear people strayed all over, it will need some care when the clag is down. 12 ml, a good course, and Martin Smith turned up to double the DPFR ranks…
