For those regular summer series watchers who may not have been paying close attention, Monday evening’s route has been modified, following a mid-week recce, and renamed Saville’s Nuptials in honour of young Tom and Issy’s imminent knot tying.

The old CP1 is still viable, notwithstanding extensive felling of the Snake Plantations on the slopes to the west of Lady Clough.  A new CP2 has been added to keep runners out of some newly planted (and densely vegetated) areas to the west of Saukin Ridge, and the final checkpoint has been moved to just south of Fairbrook, giving everyone an evens chance of making it back before darkness falls.  Do please pack a head-torch though (you might also consider taking a machete), as the bracken is taking no prisoners at present on the slopes above Fairbrook.

The RO is also authorising a one-off early 5pm start this Monday for anyone who is keen to get back to Neepsend in time for the start of the evening celebrations; with or without a shower stop.  Nick K has kindly volunteered to count runners out and in for the later 6.30/45pm start, so business as usual for those who cannot make the earlier time.
