AKA Snake Inn Race, Bob’s Night Race – results here
A grand night out, as Bob’s report below tells:
Despite all the talk of safety, it’s never been the intention to restrict our running in any way. So I thought it was a good idea to have a night race over some really challenging terrain – Kinder in thick clag.
A good field of 28 runners made their way up Fairbrook Naze and took various routes across to Hartshorn – special thanks to Mark Harvey for marshalling here. The spring under seal edge was a new one for most and tricky to find.
The Snake Inn was very welcoming and had a roaring fire and good beer. Despite the conditions, there were no major navigational blunders and quite a few ended up running in a group.
Well done to winner Richard Hunt and to Neil Northrop for navigating without a compass. There were a few bottles of beer left over from the club champs to give out as spot prizes. Look forward to similar thing next year.
