START Near bus turning circle CP1 TRIG-MAM TOR[128836]-reached via open hillside [no path from mine] the gully is also out because of debris CP2 Lords Seat [112834] CP3 Rail bridge [110847] via Chapel gate track – no road down to barber booth CP4 mam tor trig – via cold side – using bit of road/footpaths to Harden clough – no road to mam nick FINISH at the cars. This race, 5 miles, 2,180 feet or thereabouts, is an Andy Harmer production which has the potential to become a classic and certainly deserves to be run again! Some 9 runners started at 6.45 and the rest of us went off at 7 pm. Phil Crowson was notable because of his lack of head torch which resulted in him doing his usual trick of getting lost but enjoying it immensely! Somehow he managed to finish intact. There were many different routes, mine, below is not meant to be the definitive one and no doubt others had a better one (and many had a worse!).  We’ll have to visit Castleton more often, even the pub was good! [gpx2graphics map 481] Like the man said, some had a less smooth passage … apologies to Dave McG who made the mistake of following me too far along Chapel Gate,  … clearly not the best line off Lord’s Seat either.
