Thursday Trodders:- Mark Harvey, Russell and Ian “went out today and did 8 mile 3,000ft over Kinder in 2 hours, cold and breezy in places. Took in Aircraft wreck (Wellington Bomber…) near Kinder East Trig. Also went up Jaggers where there appears to have been a big land slide approx 2/3 of the way up in the last day or two. Debris up to 4 ft in places further down the clough, I’m glad I wasn’t in there when it went.”
DT – just a reminder that if ever you want company for a run, just send through…..
Bunny Run Relay Results:- this was superb.Just by looking at the Team Names, the character of it all comes through. Teams of 3, loads of young, mixed, family teams going round the quarries, with the baton being the breakable egg – 1minute penalty if the egg gets broken. Prizes heavily weighted to family teams, so just about every youngster got their Easter Egg. So is there a place for something similar in the Peak?
Summer Series(2) Race: “Washington Wasp.” Very pleasing to have another strong support – and also that many dates have been booked up for races. These offered dates aren’t final – if you have a course, and can find any non-clashing date, it could probably be included. Race 3 is 19th May, Chris Barber’s excellent Low Bradfield course – though I see he’s not divulging the woodland secrets by providing a map just yet?
Three Peaks Website Full Results. Please put any Comments and all that on, it will add interest. Thanks to everyone for running, supporting helping and everything.
A hard trip round for me, now’t in’t legs. But there’s Borrowdale to come.
The Bingley Tent looked impressive, club colours and entitled. Somewhere to gather and meet up with club people……..
Drinks – is just water sufficient? My Lucozade drink bottle went down well up Ingleborough, whether at Honister we should be having more than water when Dale Head beckons?
Sheffield Half Marathon Results:- you’ll have to wade through these…
Dambuster Challenge:- Anyone doing this?
Trunce (2) Results And who’s the Lady who won ? All a mistake in the results – Rob Little was first.

Win Hill/Lose Hill:- From Nigel:- “Big thanks to the organisers and all the marshals today. Made a great weekend 2-1 for the Blades yesterday then a trot round a real hard course, 3 steep climbs and 3 slippy descents. I had the ‘devils watch’ on and for those interested it made the course 8.2 miles.”
New Member for DPFR? Have a look at this – especially the last part – (thanks, Neil). “I do between 30 and 50 miles a week when I am at home and I know that if I were to go out drinking I would have to give up the running. And that ain’t going to happen. Running is the main staple of my life now, it is the thing that holds me together.” So perhaps someone could call in at The Crucible, hide his snooker cue, and get him to line up for Three Peaks.
Nigel puts me straight a lot, with “ He is a good runner. He runs for Woodford Green and I might not be spot on but his 10k pb is around 35 mins and he finishes high enough up in the Metropolitan Cross Country League to get his name in Athletics Weekly.”
DT – which sets me wondering what would happen if we exchanged the venue for the two Rons – taking one out of the Crucible and putting him on the Stanage Boulders. But that would mean a reverse move, leaving Stanage and having to walk out into the Crucible limelight……AND make a 147 break……
