After some hesitation the powers that control the Dark Peak Cyberspace have allowed Dr Bob his foot in the door. As you may recall it all began with a few educational shots of foot surgery, closely followed by graphic images of injuries suffered while using a skip for hill training (not to be advised). Sadly in those benighted days there were complaints from the squeamish, although with the recent edition of our estimated organ ‘Dark Peak News’ graphic injury has now gone main stream. So bring on the blood! But there is more than just gore to cover with Dr Bob. Sports Medicine is riven with many misunderstandings which I wish to correct: Beer is bad for re-hydration———–No it’s not according to a recent scientific paper Stretching prevents exercise———-Not according to a large meta analysis of studies published in the BMJ Sports massage is good for you——Well maybe you haven’t fallen for that one, at least if you have tried it.
