Lewis and I will be departing Sheffield railway station tomorrow afternoon (Friday) at 2.11pm (possibly via a swift pint in the Sheffield Taps), headed for Manchester Picadilly, Barrow-in-Furness and Foxfield, and thence to (the pub in) Broughton Mills at the start of the Cumbrian Traverse by about 7pm.
We plan to drink beer, eat unhealthily, bivvy somewhere suitable and set off the following morning (Saturday) at about 7am, with the intention of completing the Cumbrian Traverse in around 12 hours, hopefully bumping into Nicky on her BG record attempt somewhere between Bowfell and Great End. We’ll then eat fish and chips and drink more beer with Nicky’s supporters at the Moot Hall – and/or elsewhere on the hill – whilst waiting for her to complete.
If anyone would like to join us on the Traverse, please just pitch up at the station Friday early afternoon, or else contact us at calendar@dpfr.org.uk
