'a reminder that the GREAT URBAN FELL RACE (incorporating richard hakes's birthday party) will be held on sunday, august 15.
Start at 10 am, from the cobden view hotel, crookes, with post-race refreshment and debriefing from 12 noon.
 
The route (about 10m with about 1500 feet of ascent) visits the following landmarks:
1) shirecliffe hill viewing platform (vandalised),
2) wincobank hill iron-age camp and trig point (site of),
3) footbridge over railway below wardsend cemetery,
4) lamp-post at top corner of the bole hills, end of longfield road.
