Whilst some of us were off sunning ourselves at the Saunders (Day 1 anyway), other members of Dark Peak were undertaking some alternative routes:

Dave Lockwood tells me – Just completed a different Joss Naylor inspired ‘day on the fells’ Sat 3rd July.

Mungrisdale to Wasdale – 40 miles, 16,000 ft, 20 summits, 18 ½  hours.
Joss did it last year on 21st June –  Ref; Joss book Chapter 14.

Completed by Dave Lockwood, Bob Marsden, Dick Pasley & Alison Shepherd with Colin Henson & Dave Moseley – road and Black Sail Pass support.

Dave Sykes says – In the absence of a long lake district race this weekend Ben Robson and I completed an unsupported BG round leaving the Moot Hall at 3am. The weather was fine but very windy. Ben proved the BG is really a very big walk by not running after the Fairfield descent until time pressure dictated a last 2 km jog. It went dark on Brandreth and my torch gave out soon after. We finished in 23h 52m
