To weekend of 5th / 6th November

English championships

The final standings in the English Championships were finalised this week. Our teams accumulated three 2^nd places a 3^rd and two 4^th’s. There were individual medals for Alex Mason 2^nd MU23, John Hunt 2^nd M55, Keith Holmes 3^rd M65, Dave Tait 3^rd M70 and 1^st M75 last, but by no means least, Majka Kunicka 3^rd W40. Congratulations to all of them and the many others who contributed the our team successes.

Men’s open 2^nd, with Keswick well clear. Joe Woodley 20^th, Nathan Lawson 23^rd, Josh Williams 24^th, Alex Mason 26^th and Tom Saville 28^th.

MU23’s Alex Mason 2^nd , Chet Gillespie 5^th and Finlay Grant 7^th.

M40’s 4^th, only 3 points behind both Helm Hill and Horwich RMI. Will Boothman 11^th and John Hunt 17^th.

M45’s John Hunt 12^th.

M50’s 3^rd, only 2 points behind Helm Hill. John Hunt 5^th, Joe Blackett 13^th and Simon Patton18th.

M55’s John Hunt 2^nd and Joe Blackett 7^th.

M60’s 2^nd, but as less than four clubs competed in four or more races there is no M60 championship. Andy Barnett 10^th and Keith Holmes 20^th.

M65’s Keith Holmes 3^rd.

M70’s Dave Tait 3^rd.

M75’s Dave Tait 1^st.

Women’s open 2^nd, with Helm Hill well clear. Majka Kunicka 8^th, Lisa Watson 23^rd , Rachel Rose and Beth Nadin 27^th=, Sally Fawcett 30^th.

WU23’s Madeleine Davis 9^th.

W40’s 4^th, 4 points behind 3^rd placed Todmorden. Majka Kunicka 3^rd, Sally Fawcett 16^th.

W50’s Helen Elmore 11^th, Jenny Caddick 18^th and Alison Wainwright 20^th.

Wirksworth Undulator – Dave Beerling writes ‘We got lucky with the weather… it cleared a mile after we set off. Sounds like it was worse at Windgather.’ Results

Windgather – A bit damp by all accounts. Pete Davies, Paul Addison and Keith Holmes were 2^nd M40, M60 and M65 respectively. Results

Saturday 19^th November – Club Champs, from Langsett Barn, entries are open.

Saturday 19^th November – Tour of Pendle, one of the best races in the calendar which unfortunately clashes with the not to be missed Club Champs. EoD, but pre-entry is much cheaper.

Sunday 20^th November – Peak Raid: Goyt Valley.

Saturday 19^th November – Baslow Bolt. Pre-entry only.

Sunday 8^th January – Trigger. Entries are open.
