Congratulations to James Halse who, with the help of his support crew, completed his BG yesterday in what sounds like some trying conditions.

A well wrapped up James Halse, but where on the BG was this picture taken?

Upcoming events

Tuesday 25th May – Totley Moor. Pre-entry only and it’s full.

Saturday 29th May – West Nab. Junior Champs race.

To Monday 31st May – iOrienteering Edale. 2 hour score event using the App, which I’m pleased to say worked perfectly when I did the Redmires event.

To Monday 31st May – iOrienteering Mission Impossible. Another iOrienteering event, a linear course this time, from Eyam.

Past events

Cakes of Bread – Some fine weather and a classic race attracted a good turnout of 36 racers with at least another 10 on the club run, also from Fairholmes. Tom Brunt and Euan Patton finished together in well under an hour, with Kirst B-J making it a family double in the women’s race.

Simultaneously, across the Pennines, Blackstone Edge saw the return of the FRA 50@50 series which has been largely rolled over from last year. Only 7 of these have been completed to date, so there are 43 left between now and the Auld Lang Syne race on 31st December. Most, if not all of these races are pre-entry only, so they take a bit of planning. Next up is Ennerdale on 12th June, which is also an English Championship race and so is sold out. Details of these races and the scoring system can be found on the FRA website here.

Fairfield Horseshoe – Another 50@50 race and a notable 2nd place finish for Hatti Archer. Results.

Half Tour of Bradwell – Results.
